A brief understanding of their location , basic structure and function. A brief understanding of their role in different physiological processes in plants and animals.
Tissue:-
Tissues are group of similar cells which perform specific function.
PLANT TISSUE:-
Plant tissues are basically of two types-
- Meristematic tissue or Meristem
According to the position of the meristematic tissue, they are divided into three types-
- Apical or Terminal:- Apical meristem is present at the tip of root and shoot of plant. This meristem is responsible for increase in the length.
- Intercalary meristem:- This types of meristematic tissue is present between two nodes. It is also responsible for increase in length of plants in between the nodes.
- Lateral or Cambium meristem :- It is present on the lateral sides of the stem. It is responsible for increase in the width of the plants.
2. Permanent Tissue:-Permanent tissue are made up of those cells which have lost the power of division. This tissue may be living or dead. They perform specific function.
According to the function they are three types.
a).Xylem:- The cells of xylem tissue are elongated and thick walled. It conducts water and minerals to different parts of the plant. Older xylem tissue forms wood and do not help in transport they may form xylem rings in the stone which determine the age of the plant. These are called annual rings. Xylem consist of following elements.

b).Phloem:- These are also a types of complex permanent tissue. They help in the conduction of food materials from leaves to various parts of the plants. It consists of four component.
ANIMAL TISSUE:-

According to the function they are three types.
- Protective permanent tissue:- The main function of the protective tissue is to protect internal parts and tissue the plant
- Supportive permanent tissue:- They are of three types. a). Parenchyma, b). Collenchyma, c). Scerenchyma
- Conductive permanent tissue:- Conductive tissue are also called as vascular tissue. They help in the conduction of food material, water and minerals. They are considered as complex permanent tissue. There are two types of conducting tissue.
a).Xylem:- The cells of xylem tissue are elongated and thick walled. It conducts water and minerals to different parts of the plant. Older xylem tissue forms wood and do not help in transport they may form xylem rings in the stone which determine the age of the plant. These are called annual rings. - Tracheids
- Xylem Vessels or tracheae
- Xylem parenchyma
- Xylem fibres
b).Phloem:- These are also a types of complex permanent tissue. They help in the conduction of food materials from leaves to various parts of the plants. It consists of four component.
- Sieve Tubes
- Companion cells
- Phloem parenchyma
- Phloem Fibres
ANIMAL TISSUE:-

- Epithelial tissue:- This types of tissue is present over the surface of the body and in the lining various body cavities and internal organs. It's main function is protection from foreign bodies and it also helps in absorption and secretion.According to the epithelial tissue can be categorize into following types:- a). Squamous epithelium, b).Stratified epithelium, c).Cuboidal epithelium, d).Columnar epithelium. - Connective tissue:- Connective tissue help in binds one tissue with another, it also connect various organs and keep them in their proper place. These tissue have more inter cellular substance(Matrix) and few cellular element and fibres. The connective tissue is classified as follows:- I). Connective tissue proper, II). Supportive connective tissue, III).Fluid connective tissue. IMAGE:- https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/art/large/connective-tissues.jpeg
- Muscle tissue:- Muscle tissue are made up of muscle is called as mytocytes. There are function is to help in movement of body part they are mainly categorize in three types:- a). Striated muscles, b). Unstriated muscles, c). Cardiac muscles. IMAGE:-https://s3.amazonaws.com/labsterim/media/uploads/SML/1_muscle_types.png
- Neural tissue:- Neural Nervous tissue constitutes the nervous system. This tissue is made up of specialised elongated cells called neurons. Each nerve cell consists of a cell body perikaryon or cyton containing the nucleus, one or more elongated hair-like extension. One of these, the axon, may be very long, sometime as long as one metre, or even three metres as in an elephant. Axons bundled together form a nerve.
